There's not much on there yet, but I plan on making it a regular thing. Speaking of regular things. I'm sorry I haven't updated here in a while. I was at Las Vegas and to make that trip requires lots of working. I'll post some pics up soon!

The 2009 Dallas Cowboys Schedule

Category: , , By Adrian Medrano
I know it's early, but I'm already preparing for the 2009 NFL Season. After the shitfest that was the 2008 season, I am ready for a fresh start. I can't wait to look at the new stadium in action. The specific dates of these games aren't done yet, but here are the opponents at least.

Home Games:

Away Games:

I can't wait!

I finally figured out a way to bring my laptop back to life. I am quite proud of myself. This will make posting much easier. I shall now give myself a pat on the back.

I'll let this picture speak for itself. Excuse me for a moment...

Seriously Serious: Moving Ahead

I'm an opportunistic man for the year 2009. I know things haven't worked out well for 2008, but I always go with the theory that my years alternate from being good and bad each year. I lost my best friend of 14 years on New Year's Eve. He was my faithful companion and loved me with full attention. He would've wanted me to carry out my life's wishes and fill the world with love.

I'm making comittments this year. I haven't drinked at all this year. I'm planning to not drink the entire year. This may be tough, but I feel that I can do it. There might be temptation, however, because I might be going to Las Vegas again this year. If that's the case, then sure. I'll make that the exception. But, for everything else, I'm going cold turkey.

I also told myself I wouldn't drink any of those mega energy drinks. What do I define as a mega? Ones like Monster, Rockstar, etc. I had a Monster once that was the size of an oildrum. I wanted to die after I had that. People call it a heart attack in a can. You would think that I would stop after that incident, but alas, I didn't. The time when I told myself I would stop these drinks was when I had a normal sized Monster. I think it was the grape flavored one, Mix'd, that made me go bonkers afterwards. I couldn't breathe, sit still, or calm down. I was having a mild anxiety attack.

Another goal I had in mind was a cliche, which was losing weight. This goal is actually turning into fruitition. I'm exercising everyday on my new exercise bike. The bike is awesome. It has settings of resistance on it, along with a fan and an iPod deck. Good stuff, really. My stomach is suffering though, because of the change in getting healthy. I'm having stomach problems as of late. The good thing is that my appetite has gone down. That's always a good thing.

I believe that this year will be great for me. I'm going to come in with optimism. I've been a pessimist for years, so I think it's time to make the switch. For the first time in a while, things seem to look up for me.

Global Warming Hits Anchorage

Holy hell, it's warm up here in Anchorage, Alaska! It's in the middle January, which historically has been pretty damn cold in the past. What the hell is up with this 45 degree weather the past two days!? I'm looking outside. It looks like Waterworld without the ability to pee in a machine to purify it back to water.
I'm still busy transcribing, but I decided to take a break and post my mini problem to the rest of the cyber world. Back to slaving my fingers!

Typing, Typing, Typing...

Part of my journey about attempting to go back to UAA is to better my typing and usage of words. I am such a slouch because of the fact of how I ended my pursuit in getting a bachelors in computer science. In order to get a bachelors in journalism, I know I have to work my ass off. In the meantime, I am doing transcript work with my mom. It's rather fun and goal orientating. I hope I can gain the experience needed to survive in this cutthroat world. One day my fingers will turn into gold. One day...

McNabb Phones Home

"Hello? Hello? Is this Chicago? I heard you're looking for a quarterback. I will oblige should I get a tie in the NFC Championship!"

Yeah. I love the NFL much. Even though my team is not representing this postseason (HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?), I still love the game. I suppose I am going with the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. Yeah, I hate the Eagles, yet I respect them as well. It's a love-hate scenario.

No luck in finding my usb drive. You would think that a chunky stick that says "Geek Squad" on it would be an easy find. Nope.

Weekend Woes: Giving My Laptop CPR

Category: , , , By Adrian Medrano
I will be spending the weekend trying to find my usb drive. I seem to keep losing the blasted thing. I'm going to put a backup Windows XP on it in hopes of being able to boot up from the usb drive. I got the dreaded "death loop" (okay, I just made that up), meaning everytime Windows XP boots up, it crashes and restarts itself. I've had this happen two times in the past, and I'm hoping third time's the charm. Wish me luck!

Hey, I updated like I said I was going to!

2009: Change I Can Kind of Believe In

Category: , , By Adrian Medrano
I should be smacking my head on my keyboard right now. I should be taking a cold shower and jumping outside in the -17 degree weather. I should change my name to Thunder Roller and roam the streets of Miami to make a few Benjamins on the street.

Why?

I keep telling myself I'm going to start a blog, I'm going to start a blog, I'm going to start a blog, and what do I get out of it? Another year wasted. I am going to change that this year. I am not promising daily updates, but I will do whatever I can to maintain this blog.

What is this blog about?

Well, you could look at my first post from a year ago, but I'll just repeat myself for the sake of clarity.

This is a blog about anything. Anything, you say? Potentially, but moreso a blog on what's on my mind. I'm interested in Journalism and what better way to practice than to create a blog?

*tumbleweed*

I see how it is. I deserve that.

Starting tomorrow, January 9th, 2009, there will be blood. Nah, but it will be messy here. I'll definitely be changing around the scenery and making sure I get things done here and there. My strength is that I'm behind the scenes. I'm a shy, somewhat timid person and I make up from that with what I write. Hopefully, at least that will become my greatest attribute.

Peace.
